Check out some great shots of NJ down in South New Jersey, taken by his favorite Aunt Amy!

Sunday, August 24, 2008 --- Nicholas finding jingle bells!

We were invited to go to Jersey for the weekend to Nicholas' Aunt Amy's Mom's place (that's a lot of 's!) to enjoy the sun and sand one last time before the end of summer.  On the way, Nicholas was playing Jingle Bells!  Look at him go with those bells we bought him.  [FYI - even though it's a musical entry, so to say, the audio is really low, so find the cuteness in the look, not the listen.]

Sunday, August 17, 2008 --- NJ puts his music where his mouth is!

There's nothing funnier than a cute, chunky kid with a maraca in his mouth. It's just funny. Period.

Monday, August 11, 2008 --- Rich Cousin Sails into NYC on Private Yacht

The headline reads well, right?  Caught your eye?  Like something from The New York Post?  Well, like so many things in the Post, it may be catchy, but it's not exactly true...

The truth is that cousins David and Lisa Dincolo, out East for a New Jersey wedding, came to join us this past Saturday for a bit of food and fun.  We all got a late start on the day, but had a very nice Southern comfort food lunch of jambalaya, chicken and waffles, puffed yucca, etc. Stomachs full, we then headed south to catch the Governor's Island ferry, but as the train's were whack, taking us to Brooklyn and then back, by the time we got there that ship had sailed. Or at least the boat had.  So we decided to hit that old standby, the Staten Island Ferry, and lost land and hit the seas for a little air.  NJ was a tad touchy, or cranky, but we did manage to get a few smiles nonetheless.  It was great to see the Dincolos and we look forward to seeing them at Christmas time in South Bend.  Or wherever else we all find ourselves.

Friday, August 8, 2008 --- Nicholas is on the ball!

video

Literally, people. Click on the video above and watch Mom and Dad play with Nicholas on the exercise ball this Friday afternoon. Pay particular notice to the crazy eyebrow raising he does on his second time crunching towards camera. It's a poor man's rollercoaster and NJ is loving it. Plus, a bonus close-up picture to see how he looks with his new haircut, even though you can't really see his hair. Oh well, it's just a cute close up!

Wednesday, August 6, 2008 --- Wave Hill

The whole family took a trip north to the Bronx to visit Wave Hill, a beautiful 28 acres of stately homes, cutting-edge art, gorgeous flowers and real darn-nice green grass. Michael starts work in one week, so we thought we'd hit it now before he's taken over by Martha, 24/7. Take a look - and take a visit if you're in the 'hood.

About Us
The Bridenstines consist of five sentient beings of various intellect, value and potential, specifically:

Lori -- Wife and mother, taking a government-sanctioned maternity break from her personal training gig to birth, rear and guide her son as he begins his life and ends hers, a.k.a. “eating the metaphorical bon bon.”
Nicholas -- Newest addition to the family, born happy, healthy and eager to start blaming his parents for ruining his life. Predicted first word – Why?
Brummie -- Elder female feline, happy with warm belly rubs and cold bowls of milk. Tabby in coat, Tiger in heart.
Maya -- Deadly-but-delicious younger putty tat, with a soft face to melt the hardest heart and a proclivity toward urinating on Mom and Dad while they sleep.
Michael -- Husband and father, busy writing, producing and directing the next great American sitcom, if at least in his head. Loves to multi-task while on the phone, often by dusting while yapping.
